The Asian production and supply chain is his area of expertise, and he has shaped the ESG-compliant retail supply chains we know today. He is dedicated to creating open, equal, and compliant competitive conditions in a supply chain industry that aims to secure the health and well-being of people and the planet. Thomas van Duinen was instrumental in designing supply chain networks from Asia to many leading (discount) retailers in the DACH and North American markets, sourcing and shipping hardgoods through various units in the supply chain.

Thomas holds an MA in Chinese Language and Culture, having studied in Leiden and Paris with a minor in International Economics. His extensive list of OEM clients included Aldi (North and South), Lidl, and Wal-Mart. As Director of Operations at Lidl Asia Pte Ltd, Thomas was responsible for professionalizing and expanding Asian sourcing for all departments dealing with electronic hardgoods.

Since 2022, Thomas has been advising MNCs on growth and transformation challenges in their supply chain strategy from Asia. His entrepreneurial mindset, driven by impact creation, value generation, and complexity reduction, along with his 25 years of cross-functional experience in the Asian supply chain, enables Thomas to deliver practical and, most importantly, actionable solutions to boardrooms often located on the other side of the world.
